All, If you pay attention to the autobuilder failure email announcement list at yocto-bui...@yoctoproject.org you'll notice the trivia question at the bottom of the email. This months winner is David Stewart who found 22 different countries. Richard Purdie got the same answer, but David got his answer in 24 hours prior. One T-Shirt from ThinkGeek is on it's way to David. The next trivia challenge update will be sometime in the new year. Thanks for those who've participated. Subscribe to the build status email list (failures only) at https://lists.yoctoproject.org/listinfo/yocto-builds to participate.
-- Elizabeth Flanagan Yocto Project Build and Release ------------------ FAQ: ------------------ General: Q: What's the point? A: To get people interested in the state of the build. To make alerting people to build failure's a little more fun. It makes my life and the maintainers life easier if people help keep on top of build failures. Q: What OS/software does the autobuilder infrastructure run? A: openSuSE 11.4 with a slightly modified HEAD of yocto-autobuilder master. I'm looking at doing this all via VMs to help host testing of Yocto. Q: Who is sponsoring this? A: I am. It makes my life easier (not to mention the maintainers) if people are paying attention to the autobuilder. We're beginning to see the benefits of people paying attention. (Most of the past 20 builds were green as of when I wrote this). Q: I don't want to get spammed. What other ways can I participate? A: In trivia? Sorry, email only. But, if you're interested in autobuilder status (and you should be!), you can join #yoctobuildstatus on Freenode or view autobuilder.yoctoproject.org:8010 Q: These failure messages are too informative/not informative enough/import critique. A: I'm working on helping the autobuilder grab more informative failure messages. Stay tuned. Rules: Q: Who can play? A: Anyone who joins the list and responds to a question. With the exception of me. Because that just wouldn't be fair. Q: I want free stuff! When do you do this? A: I randomize it. Sometimes I'll do it for a week. Sometimes a month. Hard questions/challenges tend to have a longer run time. I never announce when I do it. It's whenever I get the urge/think of a particularly hard/easy/silly/dumb question. Q: I can Google the answers, right? A: Can you? I can't exactly stop you, right? Although some of the questions won't be googleable. I do code challenges from time to time. I've been known to ask for haikus. Q: Can I submit a quiz? A: Sure. But you can't answer your own. Q: Who judges the answers? A: I do. My judgement is final, but I'm pretty fair. Q: I want to appeal your judgement! A: Sure. Send an email to root@192.0.0.1 with the subject line "UNFAIR!" I'll get back to you if I decide to honor your appeal. Q: I live in Antarctica. Why is my prize taking so long to get to me? A: Penguins probably stole your package. They're notorious at doing that. Seriously, I'll always try to get something to the winners, but if you live in some weird inaccessible place, or someplace no one will deliver to, or someplace I can't send to because of some legal restrictions, well... you're out of luck unless I see you at a conference.
