Hi there! I'm a new convert from PC to Mac... for years I've wanted to jump and I finally did it... I bought two spanking new MacBook Pros for my wife and I... jumped in the deep end... sure of the fact that in the end it would be good for us...
...but unfortunately I am having all sorts of (serious) problems. After fighting like crazy with the Mac Calendar and Mail aps, and honestly finding them seriously limiting in comparison to the Outlook functionality we're used to, I finally bought the Office 2008 for Mac (with the free promised upgrade to Office 2011 when it comes out) Entourage is supposed to be at the same level as Outlook in all its detail and complexity, but I can't seem to be able to do even the simplest of functions: 1) How do I manage numbering sequences as I like - with spacing between points and grabbing previous number sequences or changing numbering types like from 1,2,3 to a,b,c? 2) How do I highlight certain texts? 3) How can I bring up the ruler and manage tabs correctly so things align up properly? 4) How do I create font sizes outside the predetermined options (ie font sizes 4, 6, 7 or 7.5)? 5) How do I manage spelling when writing mails with multiple languages? Why can't I seem to be able to have certain texts, paragraphs or words in one language (function: select language) and others in other languages using the same function. 6) PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE - HOW DO I MAKE WORD MY EMAIL EDITOR INSTEAD OF THE SIMPLE EDITOR ENTOURAGE PROVIDES? I hope that the PC to Mac conversion we chose was a correct decision - I always expected that the intricate and detailed qualities of the PC Microsoft Office products (like Outlook) will be found, (learned by us), and even outdone by their equivalent Mac versions... Please help us start by finding solutions to these small but very basic problems!
