There is a bug in Entourage 2008, which has been there all the way back to
Claris Emailer v.1.

If you quote some text in a plain text email, then the quoted text naturally
is naturally preceded by a right ">" sign.

Here's the bug. If the beginning of a paragraph has a beginning sentence
starts with the first word "From", Entourage thinks that line should be
quoted.

Take, for example, the quoted text from Jim Robertson's message, shown at
the top of this message. Jim wrote the following (no * marks):

* From your comments about list formatting, font....

But Entourage 2008 displays it as:

* > From your comments about list formatting, font...

So, when actually reply-quoting it, the text shows up as it appears on the
top line of this message:

* >> From your comments about list formatting, font...

I learned a long time ago that when I write a message in Claris Emailer v.1
all the way up to Entourage 2008, if I want to start a paragraph with a
sentence with the first word "From", I write:

This from....
Or
This from (leading space before "from"
Or
Based on your comments about list formatting, font...

....
>From what I can tell
it's a bug.
