Hello, I¹m using Entourage 2004 on a (relatively new) MacBook Pro (Mac OS 10.6.4). Just tried to update Office/Entourage to 11.6 but somehow it still says version 11.4.0.
Anyway. A few weeks ago I had to empty the cache because calendar events didn¹t load properly from the Exchange server anymore. Since then the calendar is so incredibly slow that I can hear my hair grow every time I try to create an event or go to the next month. It really takes seconds for each task, and quite a few! Complete difference to before emptying the cache. Entourage does NOT get the data from the server every time, at least it doesn¹t say so in the lower right hand activity status. I already disabled database verification (or whatever it¹s called), disabled Spotlight both ways, sorted the address book according to name, deleted a few thousand emails, compressed the database (it¹s now about 550 MB), restarted the computer, stood on my head nothing. Every time I try to change views in calendar the ³Database Daemon² (not: Microsoft Database Daemon!) jumps up to 99% CPU-usage. It¹s as if the cache was gone or too small or ... I don¹t know. I had Entourage show me all my events (going back to the year 2000, and I¹m not THAT busy, my exchange-calendar-file is 7700 kB big) in list-form. It took it at least 10 minutes to finally do so. The calendar ³on my computer² is working fine as usual. I also don¹t think that it¹s the Exchange Server because my husband is on the same server and his calendar is snappy as usual. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
