Browsing through the new www.OfficeforMacHelp.com, I came across the page on trimming attachments at http://www.officeformachelp.com/2007/07/trim_attachments/
--which reminded me of a few questions I've had for a while. 1) Both the scripts mentioned on this page (designed to save, strip, and link to attachments for *incoming* messages) mention only Entourage X and 2004. Do these scripts work with 2008 also? 2) Assuming the answer to (1) is yes (and assuming I use one of those scripts on my identity and it works), will Outlook 2011 import my received-messages-with-links-to-saved-and-stripped-attachments properly, i.e., will the links to saved and stripped attachments still work? 3a) This help page also shows a mail rule for stripping attachments on *outgoing* messages in Entourage. Will this leave an indication in the headers (or elsewhere) of the attachments I sent with the message? I use this information to check whether or not I've sent a particular item to someone, sometimes years after the message was originally sent, and having this information is more important to me than stripping the attachment from my saved outgoing message. BUT, if I can save the information, and ditch the attachment itself, I'd prefer to do that as a default. (I know that some mail archiving programs for Windows Eudora can do this -- I have one of them -- but Eudora handles attachments very differently than Entourage in the first place, so this may not be analogous.) 3b) If a mail rule in Entourage 2008 won't do the above...how about Outlook 2011?
