First, the certificates (listed in the Keychain Access) are not stored in the User's Library/Keychains folder. They are in Macintosh HD/System/Library/Keychains in some strange format that cannot be edited. I messed around it the Keychain Access until I finally found a delete button but it was dimmed and useless. I gave up messing with the certificates and fixed the problem by trashing the whole Macintosh HD/System/Library Keychains folder and replacing it with the folder from my MacBook Pro. That FIXED the problem. I never could figure out how to delete one of the 171 certificates. When I finally found the Delete under the menu it was dimmed out. Some things are just too hard and messing with certs is one of them.
