I just had a close encounter of the wrong kind with the new Office Update http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/9648/microsoft-office-2008
I took the time to download Office2008-1210UpdateEN.dmg and it ran but could not install. Said it could not find Office 2008 on my hard drive. I then opened an application and used the Microsoft AutoUpdate and it did it thing until it stopped telling me to close all kinds of applications. I closed everything that was open and was still suspended waiting for me to close the Microsoft SyncServicesAgent. I have never heard of the application and it did not show up on the dock. I looked and looked and could not find it. I was about to give up and finally found it using the Apple Activity Monitor and was able to finally close it. What a PITA The installer finally did its thing and I am posting this using Entourage 12.2.8.
