What's the point? What functionality do you get from --dbpath that --root doesn't give you?
I am working on an offline update tool for Fedora, and it makes it easier to point yum/rpm to the different rpmdbs representing the profiles of the target machines. --dbpath just removes the need for maintaining something like $profilename/var/cache/yum, and one can simply have $profilename. You can see the whole proposal at: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SummerOfCode/2007/DebarshiRay True it is not a big pain, but just that it would be nice to have. :-) Happy hacking, Debarshi -- GPG key ID: 63D4A5A7 Key server: pgp.mit.edu _______________________________________________ Yum-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.dulug.duke.edu/mailman/listinfo/yum-devel
