What's the point? What functionality do you get from --dbpath that
--root doesn't give you?

I am working on an offline update tool for Fedora, and it makes it
easier to point yum/rpm to the different rpmdbs representing the
profiles of the target machines. --dbpath just removes the need for
maintaining something like $profilename/var/cache/yum, and one can
simply have $profilename.

True it is not a big pain, but just that it would be nice to have. :-)
