FWIW, the protect list in pirut is
remove_blacklist = ('yum', 'pirut', 'glibc', 'rpm-libs', 'rpm',
'kernel', 'kernel-xen', 'kernel-PAE')
bash is a good suggestion for me to add there.. :)
