I have only a very basic understanding of the suse package manager(s). I
have been on the zypper mailing list for little while and have been
pushing them to get some features in their package manager to match up
to yum. (specifically, mirrorlist support, variable replacement in URLs,
and plugin support to add new variables.)

Most of their code is in zypper, but they also have 'rug' and 'zlm' on
the SLES (RHEL equivalent) side of things, which is very confusing to me
as I dont see how they integrate.

Anyways, the latest betas for zypper (opensuse pkg manager) have the
things I've asked for (I still need to test it... :)
