yum-utils, yumex,anaconda and pirut all have no references to it. I think you're right about no callers using it. I'm inclined to go ahead and apply it - however, if you would - take a look at the _resetSack() method I added to YumRepository - it will need a minor modification to make sure we can reset the sack object. If you don't, I'll fix it after you apply.
