I am going to commit my "gold" patches for the test frame work and the fixes
needed for them. There's not that much exciting stuff (except new test
cases) but it piles up to a lot of changed/new/moved lines. So I won't post
them to the list.
@Jbowes: I'd commit my own fix for the remove test cases if this is OK. We
can easily put your fix on top if this turns out to be needed/wanted.
