Ok, here is a first patch. It does not yet fix the insane use of the return
value - like checking for all new txmbrs and not only one. I am also not
completely set with the names - feel free to suggest better ones. But you
should be able to get an idea of how it will look like in the end.
BTW: What was the status of conditionals? Are they on the kill list, too? Or
is this still wishful thinking?
