Oh! I trusted our debian/watch file, which had:
http://yum.baseurl.org/download/3.2/yum-(.*).tar.gz

I replaced it with:
http://yum.baseurl.org/download/(\d\.\d)/yum-([\d\.]*).tar.gz

and now uscan detects the correct upstream version.

I'll try version 3.4.3, and if I have no issue, you wont hear
from me! :)
