Wish I
would have thought of that before I started the vine on it’s way. I didn’t
realize this would be so popular. I did notice the crazy globe hoping coming but
I figured it was just unavoidable with the new system.
As Chris
has already sent a set to Europe I volunteer to send out a second US vine. To
avoid confusion I’ll post messages for both legs of the vine clearly
marking them as US and Euro-UK. I think I can separate out the existing list of
viners.

Efficiency (WAS 1970-11-14 early and late LIST)
This idea makes a lot of sense to me...
I wasn't wrong in '76, but graduated high school - does that count?

Vine Efficiency (WAS 1970-11-14 early and late LIST)
How about the person who starts the vine waits till there is a list of
people who want it. ( say waiting 4 or 5 days before starting it)
Then the vine starter cuts and pastes the list to make
it geographically sensible.
Once it's in motion other people can add their names and OK it may
eventually do some pond hoping.
But at least it starts out efficiently.

Whatever you guys
wish, I suppose. But part of the vine system we employ makes searching for them
easier and I feel that splitting them will make that end more confusing.

Efficiency (WAS 1970-11-14 early and late LIST)
I think
at this point all we can do is learn how to things differently in the future.
As a
possible model for future vines of this sort: When I receive the vine, I could
burn two (2) sets, and then send one to the next EU\UK recipient and one to the
next US recipient. And we just send them in the order listed disregarding those
not in the country the vine is traveling in.
i.e.
those in the US disregard all EU\UK recipients, and those in the latter afore
mentioned disregard all US recipients.
I'm not one to complicate
things and, tho I can see some of the efficiencies mentioned in this thread
regarding vines crossing the pond, I think having two branches for every vine
will end up complicating the system. My opinion is that a single vine is easier
to track, and easier to search. I guess I'd rather see single vines where an
occasional shuffling of names occurs (with the agreement of the participants,
of course).
As this vine is
already enroute to Europe, it does make a bit of sense to have it make the
rounds a bit there. The vinage as posted lately is:
Chris US <<
Bart << mr. skull << Richard-UK << Milhouse-US << white
rabbitt-US << Nick Ullmann-UK << Scott Burnett - US <<
Joseph-US [EMAIL PROTECTED] <<
Guy-US [EMAIL PROTECTED] <<
With the vine on
it's way to Bart, and if all are amenable, it could be amended to:
This is merely a
suggestion; it's really something the vine participants need to decide for
themselves...
