32-bit version is fine, the problem was with my Mac. For those interested: Mac OS X gives "com.apple.quarantine" attribute to apps downloaded from the internet. When you open that app for the first time it will show a warning like this: " “Zekr” is an application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it? " If you click the Open button it will remove the quarantine attribute and open the app. For some unknown reason the warning window would not appear on my mac so the 32-bit version of Zekr still had the quarantine attribute and would not launch. I restarted my Mac, it displayed the warning window and it works now.
