JM,

While I envy the psychic powers of your teacher, it remains to be seen how
'seeing thousands of lights' is linked to enlightenment.

Subject: [Zen] Practice of No Mind II

Good morning Friends of Chan,

If you recall, some months back, I shared with you, that Mark Troxell from
Pittsburgh, met our Master for the first time in Shanghai.  Without speaking a
word of Chinese, was transmitted with Buddha Heart Imprint, by our Master who
does not speak English.  After that Mark is seeing thousands of lights within
himself every time.  Just as I was taught and as stated in Buddhist sutra.

Of course, Mark does have a unique background.  He has been practicing both
Chinese martial arts and Japanese zen for 37 years.  Upon their meeting, our
Master "sensed" that and "open up the curtain" for Mark.  These are in Mark's
own words.

What I like to share with you is what Mark shared with us in one of our
classes.  He said...

The blossoming of a lotus flower is based on strong roots which continuously
absorbs the basic elements from earth, a stem which continuously processes and
supports, and leaves which transforms and processes and be ready for the right
season.

The absorption of the "basic elements of the earth" turns into the energy
within the flower, while the leaves transforms and processes the universal
wisdom.

While too often we focus only on the flower..

Thank you for your attention,
JMJM
