Merle, lovely paintings. And gorgeous website for them. Kudos!
Beginning painter here, as you know (at the stage of concentrating on realism,
even if scenes are from imagination, or just technical exercises, to get
familiar with the tools). Nothing abstract, nor of eidetic imagery, yet, but
these may come. I think I'm at the start of a long and variegated relationship
with painting.
Funny how taking part oneself in an activity makes the statements or
accomplishments of others along those lines so very interesting, and in new and
strong ways. Nowadays, I even look at the paintings I see in ads (adverts) and
STUDY them: the brushstrokes, colors, balance and composition. This may tickle
your heart, as an art teacher for over thirty years, I think you wrote. ;-)
Painting is a good Yoga.
A little experience just draws me in deeper and opens me outward.
