Good show, Chris.
I recall as a Catholic practitioner in my early teens really keeping a vigil
during the three silent hours on Good Friday. It seemed like a necessity.
Like keeping awake even as a passenger on an airplane so the plane would not go
down, in order to keep it airborne single-handedly! Or, it was like watching
an astronomical event, a natural phenomenon. 12 Noon - 3 PM, in our time zone.
Keeping the silence, and keeping in mind the history, the doings of that Day.
Remarkably moving even as I recall it today. I have not practiced that way in
years.
Levels of enlightenment? We're either awake, or we're snoozin'. The one is
revealed by much practice with teacher and sangha, and kept open by practice no
matter how, or maybe winking in and out. Less winking with time.
Blessings, this Week and always,
--Joe
