Hi I have downloaded the v2rc1 release today, and tried to play around with it a bit.
What I plan on configuring is failover for a HTTP and HTTPS website, and if/when that site is down for maintenance, the clients should be directed to another server which shows a website telling that the site in question is down for maintenance. Is this possible to configure in ZLB? I can't see any way to specify the algorithm for the real servers when I choose to set up a HTTP/HTTPS farm, and my understanding is the default algorithm will load balance incoming requests between the available servers, taking their weight into account. I am thinking that perhaps setting a very large weight for one server and a low one for the other may create something like what I want, but I don't think I can make sure the clients wont hit the "down for maintenance" server while the primary server is up. If I set up a TCP farm instead, I don't think it will be possible to see the client IP address on the backend servers, which is required for this application. Please correct me if I am wrong here. -- Best regards Jeppe Toustrup ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 10 Tips for Better Server Consolidation Server virtualization is being driven by many needs.
