I think what would be useful is monitoring of failover status… (i.e. altert if
primary machine is offline and the backup took over servicing all farms.

I personally wouldn't mix Load-balancing with monitoring.. if you do.. make it
at least optional (as people with monitoring servers will get annoyed if they
get 2 + emails about the same topic ;))
To add to that.. i would always go for a clustered monitoring system (that
monitors all servers and not just the few behind a balancer)
I would say keep Load-balancer light weight and do the job it's supposed to do
without adding to much extra weight.
As for load-balancers - i would go for optimal performance rather then extra
features ( in the end.. speed counts ;))

Marco

Subject: [Zenloadbalancer-support] Enhancement request

Hi I forgot to add..
It would be useful to get e-mail status updates.
Eg. Email on real server failure
Email on real server back to normal
Email on farm failure
Email on farm back to normal
Maybe use farm name in subject line, and summary status of the whole farm in
the body.
I use ZLB for my smtp server, so their may be an occasion when this won't work,
but generally this would be very useful.
Allow, user to specify 1 (or possibly) 2 smtp targets.. Check-smtp could be
used internally to check target mail server status?
Thoughts?
Sent from my BlackBerry, sorry for the short reply.
