I am running l4txnat farm for http/https services and below is the setup I
have configured.
clients: 172.31.22.0/24
Zen LB:
1. 172.31.4.251
2. 172.31.4.253
Zen LB VIP: 172.31.4.250
L4txnat Farm for Ports 80 & 443
Farm VIP: 172.31.4.249
Backends:
1. 172.31.4.96 (running on centos 6.x with apache 2.x)
2. 172.31.4.169 (running on centos 6.x with apache 2.x)
Weights: 1 (for both the servers)
Both the Apache servers redirects http traffic to https through rewrite
rule.
Everything works fine if Apache is up on both the backends. If I stop
apache service on one of the backends still the LB sends the requests to
one of the stopped Apache server and sometimes browser on the clients
displays "Error 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED): The server refused the
connection". tcpdump on the stopped Apache server shows request coming from
the client ips for the port 80 and 443.
So I have a question l4txnat farm does not checks whether the service is
running or not on the backends or does not keep the state of the backend?
if yes, how can I configure the same. If apache is stopped on the backend
server then LB should not send the requests to that apache server rather
should keep track of the states of the backends.
Do let me know if you need any further information.
Thanks & Regards
Ankush
