some sugestions.
*if you are working with http service, try with http profile. and change
the value of field
Timeout request from clients. to 60 for example (1 minute)
*Is the LB and backends in the same subnet?
Try to connect from a client in vpn for example with telnet, something like
that:
telnet yourLB 80
GET / HTTP/1.0
host: yourhostname
and check if you receive response or connect
*Change the value of Backend response timeout secs = 10
