Hi, ISO is the supported method, AFAIK.
I seem to recall there was discussion on this topic in the list archives; someone was building it to run on CentOS and/or Deb64bit / using their own base install host. I suspect it is doable. I just don't know how well supported it is. Did you find any docs:pointers:list archive at all to address this?
