I'm creating a service as below:

Service
Virtual host, URL Pattern and Redirect are blank
Persistence session is set to: IP: Client Address
Then at the bottom I set the following under Set Real Server:
Server: 0
Addresss: the address of the server I want to redirect to
Port: 443
Timeout and weight: -

In my situation I guess I need ZLB to pass the SSL packets, not offload them.
The reason I'm using SSL is that it's the only option that allows me to add a
certificate to the load balancer.

That might be my issue, not really sure.

I've used ZLB in the past but this is the first time I'm trying it in this
configuration.

Thank you

I'm talking about your procedure for adding backends in the https farm
By the way, HTTPS farms are usd for ssl offload, it means that communication
between zlb and backends have to be in HTTP mode, NOT HTTPS.

It's a linux server running Apache. I can connect to it from the inside of my
company with no issues (I set internal DNS to point directly to the it
bypassing ZLB)

Its shown as Gateway-va in the Schematic on the below URL.

what about backends?

Im building out an application that needs a "reverse proxy Load balancer"
schematic for the build is below:

http://pubs.vmware.com/horizon-workspace-10/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.vmware.hs-install.doc_10%2FGUID-959E0EFF-AF1F-4479-A19C-98BAF813E73C.html

as per the instructions, I set up a HTTPS farm that has the below settings:

farm name HTTPS
http verbs accepted (standart HTTP Request)
HTTPS certificate (valid and verified as working, if I connect to the ZLB I get
a secure connection with green Lock)
Cypthers (All)

Service
Virtual host, URL Pattern and Redirect are blank
Persistence session is set to: IP: Client Address

Then at the bottom I set the following under Set Real Server:
Server: 0
Addresss: the address of the server I want to redirect to
Port: 443
Timeout and weight: -

When I try to make the connection I get:

400 Bad Request
The plain HTTP request was sent to HTTPS port

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
