HI Ian, I hoped that someone with more experience than me with CAS would
reply your question.....

You can use zen with CAS Server in diferent subnets, but as a good
practice, I would recomend that you configure in zen a interface in each
CAS server for connect from zlb to CAS server through the same subnet.

You can use HTTPS farm for your owa if you are interested in do ssl offload
or you need a better persistence session than IP, if not you can use L4
with NAT enabled, TCP or HTTP profile, there isn't a better solution, it
depends of  service that you want to load balance, network architecture,
sys admin preferences, etc...
