Hi Nick it is possible, it is named ssl offload, you have to configure a
https farm and configure your ssl cert in the load balancer, later create a
service into the https farm and add there the backends (8080 port).

With this configuration  clients will connect to the load balancer through
ssl, the load balancer will decrypt the communication and will send to the
backends the information in HTTP mode.
