Hi James, the fields that you are talking about are described in this url:

If you are trying to configure zen as load balancer - proxy then you have
to use virtualhost field for deciding in any request where you send it.

Use field virtualhost and/or URL for creating decisions in the request
forwarding  to the given backends.

In the case your 6 servers are configured with virtualhost then you don't
have to do anything else in the load balancer, only to configure one
service with the 6 backends.
