Hi Scott,
The patch file didn't have enough path to work for you, and too much of
my path to fail for me. This has been fixed. To install:
$ cd zenossinst
$ rm -rf build/pysnmp-3.4.3
$ svn update externallibs
$ make pysnmp-install

Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?
