Hi,

What means event suppression?

No more events are generated for systems behind a gateway, except the first down events?

John,

Not 100% sure what you are looking for. We are relatively smart about how we send events. When pinging we use the layer-3 routing topology (so we suppress events from beyond a failed router). Other monitors don't run if ping failure exists.

Of course you can also build rules to suppress, drop or send events directly to history.

How does event (alert) suppression work in Zenoss? Is this something
you have to build in manually, like with Solarwind's Orion, or does
Zenoss do it more intelligently?

Thanks!
