Hello all,
My name is Drew Bray and I am the new Zenoss docs guy. You likely saw
Bill's message introducing me and you may have seen my messages about
the releases as I will be helping out in that capacity as well.
My current priorities for the documentation side are as follows:
1) Create a Quick Start tutorial for a basic install and getting up
and running using the Zenoss Virtual Appliance and doing some basic
tasks.
2)Create some screencasts following the new Quick Start Guide.
3) Update the Admin Guide section by section. Pull in the relevant
information from the FAQ/Wiki. Make sure that all functionality, and
options are all documented.
I will also ask you for feedback along the way, post draft versions
etc that you can use as you wish and provide feedback too. Basically
we want to use the documentation effort to help you use Zenoss
better. As an initial step, here is a link to a new doc called a
Quick Start Guide designed to get users functioning using a VMware
install and doing some really basic tasks.

We have also created some screencasts (Zencasts?) showing how to
start and log into the Zenoss Virtual Appliance and then one showing
how to add a new user. These are available from:

We plan on expanding these to cover as many tasks as necessary
based on user feedback as well.
