Hi Joseph,

Yes, we are monitoring Solaris 8 and 9 with limited success. Both
versions have built-in SNMP master agent (snmpdx) and subagents (snmpd,
mdlogd etc) which provide very limited MIB OID for host performance
information.

rsSystemProcessTime 1.3.6.1.4.1.42.3.13.3.0
rsUserProcessTime 1.3.6.1.4.1.42.3.13.1.0
rsVIntr 1.3.6.1.4.1.42.3.13.13.0
rsVPagesIn 1.3.6.1.4.1.42.3.13.9.0
rsVPagesOut 1.3.6.1.4.1.42.3.13.10.0
rsVSwapIn 1.3.6.1.4.1.42.3.13.11.0
rsVSwapOut 1.3.6.1.4.1.42.3.13.12.0
rsDiskXfer1 1.3.6.1.4.1.42.3.13.5.0
rsDiskXfer2 1.3.6.1.4.1.42.3.13.6.0
rsDiskXfer3 1.3.6.1.4.1.42.3.13.7.0
rsDiskXfer4 1.3.6.1.4.1.42.3.13.8.0

No MIBs are provided for extracting disk related info such as used space
etc. Things are further compounded if using Veritas Volume Manager 7.x
which altogether does not support SNMP. Since we have a large number of
old legacy servers I am exploring various avenues to extract better
quality info. One option currently working on is using net-snmp.
However, this is easier said then done as I can only get the source code
and compiling this on old OS is a challenge due to dependencies. The
other option I am exploring is writing a sun plug-in for zenoss.
