I don't use the VMware image, but here is where I would go next. make
sure you can ping the host. Check to see if snmpwalk is installed and
if not, install it. It should be in the net-snmp-utils package.

When you have that, run "snmpwalk -c <your community string> -v 2c <your host>"

If that is successful, you should a bunch of information scrolling
across the screen. If it fails, then there is a connectivity issue or
SNMP is not set-up correctly.

i have configured the snmp service on the win server acording to this document:

i configured the agent, then i created the community and then configured the 
traps and the security... then i restarted the snmp service, then i started the 
snmp trap service, but i keep getting the same error:
no snmp found for ip = 192.168.0.5

what am i missing?...
