Have you tried removing the service, performing a full shutdown (not just
restart) and then installing the service again? That sounds like a registry
issue, and the windows registry is VERY picky (much more so than MS is
willing to admit), especially when dealing with services.

Zakir,

I am having bit of a problem with the SNMP service on two Win2k3 machines.
For some odd reason, when I right click on the SNMP service, the
Agent/Traps/Security tabs are missing. I know this is usually the case if
the user does not have Administrative privileges, but in my case, I am in
the Administrators group. On one of the machines, even logging in as the
local Administrator does not reveal these tabs. I have tried reinstalling
the SNMP service to no avail.

Any idea?

Thanks

Okay! I think that I found the solution to all of the access denied
errors... It fixed all of mine anyways.. The solution is to add the service
account to the "Performance Monitor Users" group on the windows boxes that
you are monitoring... let me know if this works for others as well.

Thanks,

Zakir
