Dusan,

Several things to look at:

1. Click on the Users tab and confirm that the email address next to the user who should be receiving alert emails is correct. Click the test link next to the address to make sure that the address and smtp server are setup correctly.

2. Take a lok at the alerting rules for that user. Make sure they haven't specified alternative email addresses in the rules (or that it's the same as the one you tested above.) Also make sure Enabled=True and Action=email on that page.

3. Try running zenactions manually to see if it throws an error:

Hello,

I have successfully installed latest zenoss (on centos) added devices, monitors, configured alerts and everything look fine except that I can’t send alerts via e-mail. I’m using sendmail on local machine and I am able to send test message – but nothing else. I have stopped a service that is monitored and I am getting red (critical event) but nothing happen with sendmail. Tail –f /var/ log/maiilog don’t show anything so I am pretty sure that zenoss alerts don’t touch sendmail. Is there any configuration or log file that I can trace what’s going on?

Thank you

Dusan
