Hey all!

I'm both brand new to Linux and Zenoss so please be gentle, lol

Ok so I setup a test box for Kubuntu and Zenoss, followed the instructions for
installing from Source off the Wiki, and the total install went very smoothly
and over the weekend my Zenoss box ran just fine. We added a few devices on
friday and I wasn able to ssh into this guy and install snmp and the mail
daemon (forgot the name) for Debian.

I only have a couple of issues for which I can't find the answers for:
1. How do I set the $ZENHOME path variable?
2. While I can send test emails to our Exchange box via SMTP, Zenoss will not
send email alerts. I have verified my exchange boxes IP and UNC are correct in
HOSTS. I can't find where to configure Zenoss to point to a specific IP for
SMTP.
3. How do I install the plugins? I dont see an install, Make nor a Configure
file in what I downloaded.

1. In the documentation on installing from source section 1.2 mentions
how to set the ZENHOME path variable. This variable will only be set
for the zenoss user so be sure that you are that user when working
with Zenoss at the command line.
2. You're looking for the "SMTP host" setting which can be found under
"Settings" from the web interface.
3. I'm not sure which plugins you're referring to, but if they are the
Nagios plugins they will be installed if you follow the "installing
from source" documentation you mentioned. They'll be installed to
$ZENHOME/libexec.
