One option is to put the event class of the fan operational events in
the zEventClearClasses field for the fan dead event class.
(zeventClearClasses is on the zProperties page of the fan down event
class.)
You can get fancier if you want by creating custom event mappings
that map the fan operational events to fan dead events with severity
0. (Severity 0 means clear existing errors.) There is some info on
event mappings in section 8.4 of the admin guide.

I am trying to figure out how to auto clear custom traps. For
example my dell servers will send out a SNMP trap that a FAN is
dead, when the FAN is operational again the server will send out
another trap that the fan is normal. I would like the receipt of
the normal trap to clear the failed trap. Any suggestions
