Ok- I updated the copy of net-SNMP to 5.4 ( RHEL 3 defaults to 5.1), and copied over the snmp.conf file from one of the servers that was already running 5.4, deleted the device, and re-installed it. Now I dont get that error.
Is net-SNMP 5.4 considered the minimun for Linux box installs? And also a philosophical question: are Dell servers runnin Red Hat considered Red Hat or Dell Servers in the Class menu? ------------------------ Luis V.
