This is a known vmware issue. Take a look at the vmware knowledge base
for possible fixes. The guts of the matter is that in vmware, no solid
clock source is available even if you set "sync to host". A few
workarounds exist in the knowledge base.

I want fixe the problem ,recompile kernel or use ntp client.
but I wget the new kernel ,but can't run "make menuconfig".
I can't run "rpm" order to setup ntp-4.2.0.a.20050816-0.FC4.i386.rpm.
Can you help me ?
