- stopped Zenoss
- removed *.zec files
- started Zenoss

Try this..

Clear the catalog:
        1. Go to 
http://yourzenoss:8080/zport/dmd/Devices/componentSearch/managenced
        2. Click on the Advanced tab
        3. Click the "Clear Catalog" button

Then rebuild it from within zendmd:
        dmd.Devices.reIndex()
        commit()

Then do your steps above again.
