Can we have an option to override the following behaviour please: When a device is discovered it is named using the snmp sysname variable (where available). Devices returning the same sysname are assumed to be the same device. THIS IS NOT ALWAYS TRUE!! I have a bunch of wireless units that all return the same (manufacturer) sysname (even though I have set their 'device names' through the web GUI).
I realise that this is one way of identifying 'multi-homed' devices - but the sysinterfaces table should offer a more reliable way of doing this! Would it be possible to customise the modelling behaviour (by sysid) to alter this - where would I look?
