First off i am a big fan of zenoss, have been since i started working as a civilian sysadmin. In the military they don't allow you to use opensource because of the sometime coding issues that come along with it.
The current implementation that we have, is the zenoss server on a physical and virtual box. The virtual box controls the DMZ and the Physical box is for internal use machines. We have a production, development, and qa env. As of right now the production the only safe way that we can do monitoring on it is by the ssh connection that zenoss has. The problem with that is that some of the zenoss.cmd zcollector plugins don't pull the correct data. Example the df.py, will pull the total .. amount but won't pull the used and available amount. Now we have a python programmer on our team but he doesn't know what the variables that zenoss picks up. so we could fix it but we don't know where that info is. I have looked through the forums hoping to find something but no luck as of yet. Another issue we are having is that the graphs don't work exactly when we try and use the zenoss.cmd.* plugins they won't build the graphs, but comma pause for affect.... they do work when you use the snmp traps. so i don't know where the error lies. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -------------------- m2f -------------------- Read this topic online here: http://community.zenoss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=18659#18659 -------------------- m2f -------------------- _______________________________________________ zenoss-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.zenoss.org/mailman/listinfo/zenoss-users
