Zenoss has a license with Google that covers Enterprise customers, so
it's not an additional expense. Our license with Google also covers
community members, so you aren't in violation of the terms of service
if used for Zenoss. Normally you would be restricted by Google's
terms of service, but we've covered it for you.

hi,
google maps takes license fees if a service using it is only
accessible to a closed user group (like an internal monitoring
system). Has someone bought a google maps license up to now? (we
think about it - but we are a little bit shocked by the high costs -
Minimum fee: 10.000 USD per year).
There are alternatives out there:
* yahoo maps (http://developer.yahoo.com/maps/ / maybe a bad idea if
they get bought :) and
* OpenLayers (http://www.openlayers.org/)
Both provide an API like Google-Maps.
Will there be support in Zenoss for one of those (openlayers would
be a good idea for an opensource tool?)
bye, christian
