I had a machine that was running a VM instance of Zenoss crash on me a couple
of weeks ago.
We've got the machine but Zenoss is not working properly in the VM.
For some reason, it does not seem to be running the user-interface.
There is nothing listening on port 8080 (nor port 80, but I don't think that
matters.)
All zenoss process report that they are running if I do either:
/etc/init.d/zenoss status << as the root user or the zenoss user
~/bin/zenoss status << as the zenoss user
BUT.. if I wait about 10 minutes after zenoss starts, and check again, the
zopectl daemon says it's not runnig.
If I manually start zopectl, it stop after just a minute or two.
It will show up in a netstat as listening on port 8080 for a couple of minutes,
but will not serve content even in that time.
Firewalls on the VM and the parent box are fine, and haven't changed. (This is
a Zenoss instance that has been running great for over a year up until this.)
The only thing I can think of that might be interfering is 2 NIC's on the VM
causing configs to no longer be valid. None of the listening processes need to
listen on all IP's. (there are 2.)
This seems very odd to me, because the machine was working fine for ages..and
worked properly after adding the secondary NIC's as well.
Anyone have any ideas?
