i'm similarly evaluating zenoss, still in the early setup phases, and ran into 
this by accident - manually setting up the list of os processes i want 
monitored on each server, and accidentally added the 'slapd' process to the 
list on a server that's not running slapd - yet it's reported all pretty green 
"up". 

this is a huge problem for me, as process monitoring is a critical requirement 
that i *thought* i had covered with zenoss. argh!
