Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but we use the HttpMonitor
Zenpack. This is the procedure we use to add a URL to monitor to a device
(assuming the device is in a class using the HttpMonitor template)

Select the physical device hosting the site.
Display the Templates (More|Templates)
Click the "Create Local Copy" button on indexPageCheck, the button should
change to "Remove Local Copy" This prevents modifying the main template.
Click indexPageCheck, which should open the performance template.
Under "Data Sources", select "Add Datasource"
Fill in "Id" with a descriptive name for the URL and select HttpMonitor from
the Type dropdown.
In the "IP Address field, replace ${dev/manageIp} with the IP address or
hostname of the web site
Fill in the "Url" fields with the URL to monitor and click "Save"
Repeat "Add Datasource" for each site you want to monitor.

You may need to create a graph definition, and manually add the data sources
created above to the graph. We select all the data sources and add to one
graph.

In some cases, rather than using the physical device we may use another device,
such as a back-end database server shared by the sites.
