Hi,

I have just started using Zenoss to monitor linux machines. We have
an application which we wish to monitor via SNMP. I have successfully
created a graph and added it to the class template for certain
machines, and not for others.

I have a static snmp probe I wish to display for the application
version. I can query it by snmp, but it is not a changing value that
I wish to graph.

I have added in a data source for the probe beside my graphing probe.
It also has a data point. I can query the snmp probe from the zenoss
web.

I have looked at the sysUptime probe and it has a data point, but no
graph. Do you need to have a datapoint when youare not graphing? All
the values seem RRD related for datapoints.

Does anyone know how I can get the new snmp static probe value
displayed in device information for the device, beside hostname,
sysContact and suchlike? Or is there another screen/tab it can be set
up - the Perf tab just displays graphs and the status tab just shows
what is set in zenoss (I believe)?

I would appreciate any pointers, thanks

Robert
