I chose Zenoss because of it's ability to collect information using WMI,
however it appears that exactly what could be collected was misleading. I do
not want to run an SNMP client on my windows servers, however would like to
have the inventory for OS, Hardware, and Software populated. Could someone
provide some insight as to whether this is actually possible with Zenoss Core?

I understand it is possible to define commands with wmic to query WMI, how
would one map the output from those commands into the fields for the Hardware,
OS, and Software tabs when viewing a device?

Is it possible to develop a new collector plugin similar to the
"Zenoss.snmp.*map" plugins to map WMI data to populate those tabs?

Thanks in advance for any help. Zenoss looks great if I can solve the data
collection issue.
