I am unsure how Zenoss is sending out its alert emails. I have the outgoing server setup in settings with authentication. On the smtp server that the message is going to gets the following error:
n4SEsi9t028455: 69-39-47-71.ispdone.com [69.39.47.71] (may be forged) did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA This looks to me like zenoss is not sending the message in the correct format for the MTA.
