Just came across this, remembered this thread: To make Zenoss behave the old way (using SysName as the first lookup for device name) on Networks, there are two properties-- zPreferSnmpNaming and zSnmpStrictDiscovery. The former is the naming and the latter is the 'don't add the device if snmp inquiry fails'.
